CIS: Crime Scene Investigation's Nick Stokes is gone and already forgotten.

'CSI: Las Vegas' Finale: First PHOTOS Revealed, See Grissom & Willows In 'Immortality'

George Eads' character departed the Las Vegas series last spring after 15 seasons, and the intrepid investigator will not return for the series final send off. In fact, Nick Stokes won't even be mentioned during the two-hour farewell episode.

Series creator Anthony E. Zuiker informed TV Line that Stokes' exit will "not at all" be addressed.

CSI: Cyber' Season 2: 'Nightmares' For Avery, How Will She Deal With Finale Aftermath?

With CSI working to reunite the original team for "Immortality Part 1 & 2," Eads absence will be rather conspicuous, particularly to longtime fans. That's not to say the creative minds behind the finale script are to blame. Zuiker wrote Stokes into the episode, according to TV Line, but had to cut the character out when Eads failed to sign on for the project.

Despite this, Zuiker promises the Sept. 27 finale will be a "love letter" to the fans. Featuring the return of Captain Jim Brass (Paul Guifoyle), Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberer), and Gil Grissom (William Petersen), the swan song should have plenty to satisfy viewers.
