It was Liz's (Megan Boone) ties to the motherland that caused the Cabal to erroneously brand her as a terrorist, but the Russian embassy will quickly become the fugitive's sanctuary in season 3.

"Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) is hot on the trail for Liz (Megan Boone) after she escapes to the Russian embassy for safety," CBS said of episode 2, "Marvin Gerard." "There is no one left for her to trust but Red (James Spader), who enlists a lawyer named Marvin Gerard to get them out of a sticky hostage situation."

As executive producer previously revealed, Liz and Red will need to rely on Mr. Reddington's criminal hit list to secure Lizzie's freedom.

"We have found opportunities for Red and Liz to convince the FBI that one of the best ways to keep track of them is to assist them in going after certain blacklisters, who Red and Liz are going after in order to exonerate Liz," Eisendrath told TV Line.
