Prince William and Kate Middleton announced on December 3 what the world couldn't wait any longer to hear: They are expecting their first baby.

Sadly, the joyful news about the Duchess of Cambridge did not end there. The Duchess was shortly admitted to King Edward VII Hospital in Central London for acute morning sickness.

The following day, Australian radio DJ's Mel Greig and Michael Christian called the hospital and impersonated the Queen and Prince Charles in a prank call to learn about Middleton's condition. They replayed the call on air.

Jacintha Saldanha, 46, the nurse responsible for passing the call to Middleton's private nurse, was found hanged a few days after she answered the hoax call. The married mother of two reportedly committed suicide because she felt "shamed" for the hoax call.

The royal couple started an online frenzy when they announced the news of their pregnancy. Less than a day later, bets began to pour in and the odds are mostly in favor of names of their royal relatives.

So far, Elizabeth is a lead favorite with 8 to 1 odds and Diana, in honor of Prince William's late mother, is a close second with 12 to 1 odds, according to the online sports betting agency William Hill.
