The Good Wife has just snagged an exciting new addition for its cast in season 7.

Cary Will Be 'Drawn' To Younger Associates In Season 7

Vanessa Wiliams is coming on board, BBC reports. The singer/actress is set to play the part of Courtney Boalt, a "successful, self-made businesswoman." Here's the most interesting part about her character, she is going to be romantically interested in Eli Gold (Alan Cumming). The showrunners, Robert and Michelle King, revealed that they "couldn't be more excited" about the addition. The involvement with Eli will be made possible becasue Boalt is expected to be supporting Peter Florrick's (Chris Noth) campaign. She might even serenade him at some point.

The Kings expressed their excitement at this new pairing on the show via a statement from CBS making the announcement of Williams' joining.

'Eli's Head To Explode' In Season 7, Alan Cumming Dishes

"There are very few names you can put side-by-side that make you laugh," they said. "Alan Cumming and Vanessa Williams are at the top of that list."

Meanwhile, another possible pairing that his been strongly hinted at is Alicia (Julianna Margulies) and Jeffrey Dean Morgan's character. TVLine recently did some snooping around and asked the Kings about the prospect, to which co-creator Robert King gave an emphatic ""F--- yes."

He went on to reveal that while the chemistry between the two will be "tactile" there will be a few hiccups from seeing it through to fruition. King said that "the Catholic-girl part of" Alicia will actually hold her back some from launching into a full-fledged extramarital affair. Also, Peter (Chris Noth) running for presidency is definitely going to complicate affairs and he will need Alicia by his side to keep up his reputation in the public eye.

Season 7 will premiere on October 4.

The season 6 finale, entitled 'Wanna Partner?' aired on CBS on May 10.
