In a recent interview with E!Online Michelle Rodriguez dished about the development of Fast and Furious 8.

The actress seemed to have confirmed that the movie will be set in New York City, a rumor that has gained strength since Vin Diesel also gave it some validation.

When asked where they were planning on filming Furious 8, Rodriguez said that she was hopeful that it would be New York.

"We were looking at New York, and I think the studio was open to that so keep fingers crossed!" Rodriguez says with a smile. "It'll be my first movie at home since Girl Fight!"

She also revealed that filming was set to begin next summer.

In a previous interview with ET Online, Rodriguez had suggested the same location for Fast and Furious 8.

She also added that there was so much potential to be tapped in the City for a movie like Fast and Furious 8. As she listed the pros of NYC, she mentioned the Hells Angels.

"New York's just like a melting pot," she said. "There is so much to discover there. Motor cycle cruise, everything from the Hell's Angels home, you've got a lot that you can play with in New York."

Fast and Furious 8 will release April 15, 2017.
