Paula Deen recently spoke about her Dancing With the Stars experience so far - particularly how she was miserable in the first week.

Deen stopped by the Access Hollywood Live studio this week to discuss her current Dancing With the Stars stint and how she's grown to love the experience.

"When I first arrived I was not doing it for me," she admitted. "My family and my team was so excited. 'You've lost 40 pounds, Paula, please try.' It was like my fifth invitation, they were soon gonna quit asking me. So I said "For y'all, okay.'"

But when premiere night hit on Sept. 14, the celebrity chef was terrified.

"I wanted to be anywhere but where I was that first Monday night. I was scared to death. I let my nerves take over," she revealed. "But my second dance, which was the rumba . . . something happened, a god wink came in there or something and when I knew I was gonna dance to 'Midnight Train to Georgia' - I was dying to be there. i just wanted it so badly. And I'm still in that mode."

While she admitted, "I don't stand a chance with those beautiful young people that have a lot of dance experience," it seems like Deen is genuinely enjoying the experience now.

Deen has been dancing with Louis van Amstel and so far they've outlasted two celebrities, Chaka Khan and Victor Espinoza. Will their luck continue? Only time will tell.

Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
