Over the weekend news broke that Australia denied Chris Brown's tour visa application on grounds of his past indiscretion of beating up then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.

The Guardian revealed Saturday that the immigration minister, Peter Dutton confirmed the news that Brown's visa application had been denied on grounds of his reputation.

The 26-year-old was issued a formal notice of this news Friday night, which could account for one of his latest Instagram posts if you go beyond the surface.

Karrueche Tran Might Be 'Focused On' Herself For Now, But She's Not Ruling Out Dating Chris Brown Again

The entertainer shared a photo of a few well-known Smurfs, which shows Smurfette kissing another Smurf than Grouchy Smurf, which causes an even bigger scowl on Grouchy Smurf's face. Perhaps this has something to do with Rihanna or even Karrueche Tran to some degree with new men in their lives, but Brown did just learn of his visa denial so maybe Smurfette represents Australia and the other male Smurf is someone that the country deems fit for entry while Brown is represented by Grouchy Smurf.

He has since deleted the post though.

Brown has 28 days from the delivery of his notice to appeal the ruling on his visa status.

"People to whom these notices are issued have 28 days to present material as to why they should be given a visa to enter Australia," Dutton said, adding, "Decisions on whether a visa will or will not be issued are made after that timeframe and consideration of the material presented to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection."

On Thursday, the newly appointed women's minister, Michaelia Cash, said, "I can assure you that the minister for immigration and border protection will be looking at this very, very seriously," adding, "I am clearly not going to pre-empt a decision by the minister, however, I can assure you what my strong recommendation would be."

"People need to understand if you are going to commit domestic violence and then you want to travel around the world, there are going to be countries that say to you 'You cannot come in because you are not of the character we expect in Australia,' and certainly, without pre-empting the decision of the minister, I can assure you it is something that the minister is looking at," she further stated.

Brown was due to tour Australia in December as part of his One Hell of a Nite Tour, which kicked off this summer stateside. He previously toured Down Under in 2011 and 2012 so to make an example of him now doesn't exactly make total sense, which many Twitter users seem to stand by.

Media personality, Simone Amelia, made a video on YouTube discussing the denial of Brown's visa, making valid points about how other musicians with known domestic abuse violence have been allowed into her homeland of Australia.

While her views on Brown's visa situation are calm and well thought out, many others have spanned the gamut without taking everything involved into consideration.

Some simply want the fact that Brown "beat" the Barbados native dropped entirely.

People even "feel bad" for the "Liquor" singer because this one instance keeps getting brought up. To be fair domestic abuse is a very serious matter and it will follow him for the rest of his life; however, he has served his time and has not committed such an act since that one that many continue to hold over his head.

One fan pointed out we are all capable of messing up; it's in our nature as humans and hopefully we'll learn from our mistakes.

Then there are those who feel as though Brown's visa denial is a race issue. Technically it could be to some extent considering facts show white musicians with similar criminal pasts have been granted access to Australia.

A lot of feathers are ruffled either way and some find this entire ordeal as a bit of a joke.

Though there are others that believe Brown's just getting what he deserves.

The domestic abuse issue is very important, but is using Brown to talk about it right?
