China's president, Xi Jinping, announced a plan to create a $2 billion fund to help developing countries, with a vow that the found would reach up to $12 billion over the next 15 years, AND would cancel the debts owed to world power by the poorest countries in the world.

In a recent profile with The Guardian, Damon made an argument for an actor's dedication for privacy that could be construed as encouraging gay actors NOT to come out. In the piece, Damon is quoted as saying: "I think you're a better actor the less people know about you period. And sexuality is a huge part of that. Whether you're straight or gay, people shouldn't know anything about your sexuality because that's one of the mysteries that you should be able to play."
