Fox's Bones should end after this season, according to star David Boreanaz.

Will Brennan & Booth Experience Relationship 'Shift' on 'Bones' This Season?

Boreanaz, who is now in his 11th season playing Booth on Bones, recently spoke with E! Online and admitted that this season would be a good ending point.

"It's a great way to wrap the whole series up and I'm excited about that," the actor said.

Will Booth Work Under Aubrey When He Returns To The FBI On 'Bones' This Season?

Expanding further, he said, "For me, personally, I think it's time. I think that 11 seasons is great. I mean, one season is great! I don't really count it as seasons but what we've given to the show and what we can do, for me it's great to see the show come to an end and do it the way we want to do it."

Will we Boreanaz leave the Fox procedural after this season? The question then becomes whether Fox would bother renewing it without one of its signature stars. The series has done well for Fox over the years, so would they continue further with only Emily Deschanel commanding the show? Only time will tell.

As for what fans should expect from this 11th season, Boreanaz teased that some episodes get to the heart of what the series has been about since the pilot.

"We'll see more of the banter. We're doing fun shows," he said. "We're doing a whole fantasy football episode now; we're doing one with Betty White, who's fantastic. The shows are going to be geared toward what the original pilot was really about."

Bones airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
