Taraji P. Henson has shared the real deal on if she and her Empire co-star Terrence Howard are really beefing in real life after headlines claimed they were having an all-out feud.

‘Empire’ Ratings Drop In Season 2, Is It Coming To An End?

Her camp reached out and said that they are nothing but “the best of friends and professional colleagues…always.”

The statement came just after rumors swirled that Henson and Howard were having some major tension on the show this season.

Will Terrence Howard’s Personal Issues Impact His Role On ‘Empire’?

“It’s gotten so bad that Taraji can’t be on set for more than 30 seconds without staring daggers at him. She’s irritated by the pompous, bigheaded braggart that Terrence has become,” one insider told InTouch Weekly recently. “In the beginning Taraji was the key supporter and apologist for his behavior. But his arrogance increased, she began to get annoyed.”

Interestingly enough, the two are playing opposite one another thanks to Henson’s request.

Actor Wesley Snipes had originally scored the role as the infamous Lucious Lyon. But Henson told show runners that she would not do the show unless Howard played Lucious.

Still, Empire producers were said to even love the feud because it helped their on-screen chemistry.

The same source said it “prompts some amazing, volatile scenes between them. the animosity is working toward the show’s advantage.”

Meanwhile, Empire is still dominating the ratings week to week. See Howard and Henson’s on screen tension every Wednesday at 9/8c on Fox.
