Prior to the season kicking off, the show's creator Shonda Rhimes teased this Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital couple would play more integral parts during this season.

Rhimes revealed viewers will get to know Jo better and see Alex as a man since he has grown up before them.

In the press release for "I Choose You," it states that Jo will confide in Dr. Stephanie Edwards (Jerrika Hinton) "about a secret she's been keeping from Alex."

It turns out that "secret" may just be that she's pregnant given the sneak peek clip ABC released that's below.

Stephanie will ask, "When did you find out?"

Jo will gloomily reveal it was only in the morning and they'll continue to chat, which will lead to Jo admitting she feels like she wants "to puke."

Stephanie will insist she needs to talk to Alex, but Jo will try to give reasons why she doesn't have to talk to him.

Then in the elevator with Alex she will blurt out, "Do you want to have kids?" which will blindside Alex, leaving him shocked and confused as he fumbles to respond.

He'll eventually question her with "Now?" which will visibly upset her as she dishes out some more shocking statements.

"What the hell is going on?" he'll then ask as the sneak peek fades to black.

Also in this episode Dr. Maggie Pierce (Kelly McCreary) will be reevaluating her life since she was invited to an ex's wedding. Plus, Dr. Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.) will show signs of uncertainty about Dr. Miranda Bailey's (Chandra Wilson) loyalty.

And to add to Alex's stresses, he'll be struggling to make a decision that will have a major impact on newborn twins.

Grey's Anatomy airs on ABC on Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET.
