A senior military official has revealed that North Korea might pose a legit threat to mainland America.

Recently, at an event hosted by the Atlantic Council think tank, Admiral Bill Gortney, stated that the Pentagon had reason to suspect that Norh Korea possessed nuclear missiles that could reach America."We assess that they have the capability to reach the homeland with a nuclear weapon from a rocket," he said.

But he also added that America was capable of combating such an attack, in fact they are on alert 24X7 should any such aberration arise.

"We're ready for him, and we're ready 24 hours a day if he should be dumb enough to shoot something at us," Gortney said. "I'm pretty confident that we're going to knock down the numbers that are going to be shot."

Gortney supported the analysis of the U.S. Intelligence, also adding that North Korea had the ability to make miniatures of the nuclear missiles and carry them through to the U.S. in rockets. Kim Jong-Un's regime has anyway engendered strained relations with the Unites States, and things are only spiralling out of control. The North Korean premier is one of the political leaders on America's list of non-truetworthy political allies.

Last year's fiasco over The Interview, starring James Franco and Seth Rogen, only made matters worse when it comes to Jong-Un's image in America. The premier had actually threatened to take action against Columbia Pictures if it released the film, which portrays Franco and Rogen's characters on a mission to assasinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-il.
