A new petition posted on the White House website calls for Vice President Joe Biden to be featured in his own weekly reality television show.

The petition entitled "Authorize the Production of a Recurring Television Program Featuring Vice President Joe Biden" was created on Jan. 4. It had almost 1,500 signatures at time of publication out of the 25,000 needed in order for the administration to take any sort of further action.

"Vice President Joe Biden has a demonstrated ability to bring people together, whether at the negotiating table or at the neighborhood diner," the petition said. "We, therefore, urge the Obama Administration to authorize the production of a recurring C-SPAN television program featuring the daily activities and interactions of the Vice President with elected officials, foreign dignitaries and everyday American families."

The petition came one day after Biden's swearing-in of senators went viral - where he hugged senators' mothers, doled out dating advice and made an awkward joke about being frisked, according to The Hill.

The petition continues: "Such a program would educate the American public about the duties and responsibilities of their Vice President, while providing a glimpse of the lighthearted side of politics even in the midst of contentious and divisive national debates."

If the petition receives the needed amount of signatures in one month the White House will respond to the request about the 69-year-old vice president. The White House's "We the People" website has been employed for both practical requests and practical jokes since its launch in September 2011.

This would not be the first time that Biden would be a special feature on a television program. He made his sitcom debut on NBC's "Parks and Recreation" as Amy Poehler character's celebrity crush, according to Reuters. The episode, "Leslie vs. April," aired on Nov. 15, 2012.
