Many fans were heartbroken when they learned that legacy character Will Horton (Guy Wilson) was the next victim of the Necktie killer on Days of Our Lives, but the actress who portrayed his on-screen mother has spoken up and expressed some anger over the decision to kill off the character.

According to reports, Alison Sweeney, who returns as Sami Brady Oct. 12 as she mourns her son's death, has admitted she isn't a fan of the storyline that brought her back to Salem one year after her character exited the show.

"Completely honestly, I was angry," she said. "I felt betrayed and hurt that they were doing it...Personally, I think it's a big mistake. I had a crazy reaction that I didn't want to do it and I didn't want to go be a part of it because I was upset."

However, after she had time to process the news, she came to the realization that it wouldn't be right if her character didn't return to town for her son's funeral, which prompted her to finally agree to return.

"I am sorry they did it, but of course, I had to go there and mourn," she said.

The storyline will be particularly hard for the Sami character, who has suffered a significant amount of loss in the past year. Her move from Salem (and Sweeney's exit from the show) were prompted by the loss of Sami's great love, E.J. DiMera (James Scott), who was killed off by Clyde Weston (James Read). After his death, Sami packed up her kids and moved to California after receiving a movie deal.

Days of Our Lives airs Monday-Friday at 1 p.m. on NBC.
