Even though it's been 18 years since Princess Diana's tragic death, the world just can't stop talking about the royal family's most celebrated member. There's a new report that says Prince William and Harry's mother would have been a fantastic grandmother, according to an old friend.

Britain's Mirror reports on Monday that her dear friend Julia Samuel is "still furious" that a tragic car crash killed Princess Diana back in 1997 and if she were still alive today, she would have been an incredible, hands-on grandmother to her grandchildren, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Samuel, who was close friends with Diana and is now godmother to Prince George, added: "It breaks my heart even thinking about it, because she would have been amazing, she really would."

On her role as godmother Julia said: "Diana is my role model - I am aiming to be as good a godmother as she was."

As far as her friendship with the Princess, Samuel says she still can't believe she's gone on some days.

She revealed, "I keep a photograph of us together on my dressing table, and for about a year afterwards, I would put it in a drawer, and then take it out again and although my head knew, my heart couldn't register that she was no longer here. It is back on my dressing table now and I look at it every day."

Samuel added, "Sometimes when I am happy I pick it up and stroke the glass and smile at her. But I was unbelievably furious that she had died - I still am."
