The annual celebration against brassieres that's meant to raise awareness for breast cancer is here once again. You probably noticed it the hashtag #NoBraDay in whatever social media site you prefer. But some people are questioning if the social media slactivism event actually does any good or is just sexualization disguised as fighting cancer.

Get the pitchforks and torches ready, because the web has a new person to hate: Jennifer Connell. The story of Connell's lawsuit against her own nephew for $127,000 is burning up the blogosphere and making the rounds on Facebook and Twitter and she does NOT come off looking good. Connell is suing her now 12-year-old relative for accidently breaking her wrist when he was eight, which she claims in court has made it hard to walk up to her third-floor apartment in Manhattan and hold hors d'oeuvre plates (seriously). Oh, and his mother died (presumably Connell's sister) within the last year. If you listen close enough, you'll hear lion-hunting dentists and bro-ish scumbag pharmaceutical CEOs everywhere breath sighs of relief.

Richard Gere Was Homeless (Kind Of)


In the new indie drama, Time Out of Mind, Richard Gere plays a homeless man living on the streets of New York and, according to Gere, he researched the role by going "undercover" amongst the Big Apple's homeless population. He detailed his experience in a recent Facebook post, a screengrab of which you can read above, and described it as "an experience I'll never forget."
