The Voice coaches burnt a heck of a lot of bridges on Tuesday. So many, in fact, that it seemed the Battle Rounds had taken on a scorched earth mentality.

The Blind Auditions are over, and season 9 of the NBC series moved into the second night of Battle Rounds on Tuesday. With six rounds to an episode, this phase of the competition pit singers from each team against each other. Winners advance to "The Battles, Round 2" while losers are either stolen by another coach or eliminated completely. On Tuesday, steals were in short supply.

After Team Blake Shelton and Team Adam Levine took the brunt of the eliminations on Monday, Team Gwen Stefani and Team Pharrell Williams had to step into the ring during Night 2.

Coach Gwen opted to keep Kota Wade and Jeffery Austin after their performances of It's My Life and Can't Feel My Face, respectively. Alex Kandel and Noah Jackson, however, were cut loose when no one came to their rescue.

Coach Pharrell's hopefuls fared slightly better. The R&B artist decided to keep Madi Davis and Siahna Im, and Ivonne Acero's rendition of You Keep Me Hangin' On managed to land her a spot on Team Blake. Sydney Rhame was not quite so lucky.

Coach Adam, meanwhile, kept Keith Semple and ditched Manny Cabo, who was unfortunately denied aid from the other coaches. Coach Blake's evening played out much the same way when he bid farewell to Krista Hughes in favor of Chris Crump.
