Agents at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York stopped 22-year-old actress Emma Watson after they mistakenly thought she was a minor and too young to travel alone.

The "Harry Potter" star tweeted on Monday in a series of posts about the incident where customs agents mistook her for an unaccompanied minor when she flew into JFK over the Christmas holiday. She said she was asked where her parent or guardian was.

"Passport control: 'Unaccompanied minor?' Me: 'Sorry?' " Watson tweeted.

"Passport control: 'Where is ur (your) guardian?' Me: 'I'm 22!!!!!!' "

"The really sad thing is that this is not the first time this has happened," the British actress added. She also said the episode taught her a lesson: "Never wearing a backpack again."

Following her fame for playing the wizard genius, and one of Harry Potter's best friends, Hermione Granger, Watson filmed alongside Russell Crowe in a religious movie directed by Darren Aronofsky titled "Noah." The film is slated for release in March 2014.

The actress has been tied for some time now to talks about casting for the film adaptation of E.L. James' best-selling novel "Fifty Shades of Grey." Watson stated in October that she is not opposed to being nude in a film, under the right cinematic circumstances, according to Entertainmentwise.

"I've been saying since I was 16 that if it's the right role and important for the character development and the story, then of course I'll do it," she said.

Watson also told the Fan Carpet that she appreciates the "Fifty Shades" consideration,  though she does not know just how her attachment to the Steele character came about.

"It's flattering in the sense that people are excited about what I'm going to do in the future, but I just don't know where this thing has come from at all," she said.
