It's still more than a month before Black Friday arrives and gives consumers steep discounts on several hot items, but some of the biggest retailers may be making plans to actually begin their sales earlier than ever, with deals rolling out as early as Oct. 31.  

More Stores Pushing For Non-Thanksgiving Hours This Black Friday?

According to ABC affiliate WMAR in Baltimore, the earliest sales will begin rolling out online and in stores as early as Halloween day, the earliest they've ever begun.  

"It will be weeks before Black Friday," Melissa Martin, spokesperson for Black Friday.com said. "It will be the biggest sales year that we have had."

Among one of the things shoppers could expect is stores rolling out sales on specific items on specific days as well.  

A similar approach was used last year but top retailers including Walmart and Best Buy, who both unveiled they would begin Black Friday like deals on Nov. 1, weeks before the actual sale day. Best Buy offered a special savings event for three hours at participating store on Nov. 8, which saw discounts on iPads, Macbook computers, Curved TVs and gaming systems. Walmart in the meantime began their sales Nov. 1 and continued rolling back prices on over 20,000 items in stores throughout the entire holiday season. They also brought back a 24-hour holiday cyber savings even as well.  

Neither company has explicitly stated what their plans for this Black Friday will entail just yet, though Walmart did begin their layaway program earlier than ever this year back in August. Similar early announcements have come from Toys R Us, which lowered the minimum threshold for free shipping to $19 from $49, as well as Target, which expanded its price matching policies to include 29 additional retailers.  

And though the sale wouldn't be quite as early as Halloween, rumors are starting to circulate that Southern department store retailer Belk is considering actually beginning their Black Friday sales with a special event on Wednesday, Nov. 25, called the Black Friday Bonus Buys. The sale will go from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m., and their full Black Friday sale will begin at 6 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, the same time they opened their doors last year.
