Just like every couple in the world, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are not perfect.

Does Angelina Jolie Keep In Touch With Her Ex-Husband?

On Friday, Vanity Fair posted a story on Pitt and Jolie's upcoming film By the Sea where the couple stars as two people with marital issues. Even though Jolie wrote and directed the film, she made it clear that whatever problems the characters face, it does not have anything to do with the actors' real-life complications.

"It's not autobiographical," the actress said about the film. "Brad and I have our issues, but if the characters were even remotely close to our problems, we couldn't have made the film."

Jolie pointed out that the idea for the movie is strictly from her own creative thoughts.

"This is the only film I've done that is completely based on my own crazy mind," she said. "When I was writing it, I never assumed we'd actually do it."

By the Sea has some resemblance to the couple's marriage though since it takes on traveling, something the actors do with their six children.

"The boys know they're from Southeast Asia, and they have their food and their music and their friends, and they have a pride particular for them," Jolie said. "But I want them to be just as interested in the history of their sisters' countries and Mommy's country so we don't start dividing. Instead of taking a Z on a special trip, we all go to Africa and we have a great time."
