It has been a week since former "TODAY" co-anchor Ann Curry has asked NBC to let her out of her contract so she can begin a new position at CNN, and the Peacock network have yet to give her an answer. According to a source, Curry "isn't surprised."

"It's just more of the same as far as Ann is concerned," an insider told Radar Online. "It's radio silence from the suits of her desire to be let out of her contract."

The source close to the situation said Curry is "ready to move" to another network after NBC executives decide to have her replaced by Savannah Guthrie in a bid to boost ratings. The network ousted Curry because it been trumped for the first time in sixteen years by ABC rival "Good Morning America."

"Ann has clearly gotten the short end of the stick from NBC. Ann's reporting on air has been greatly diminished, and she is ready to move on. It's a no brainer, just let Ann out of her contract, and everyone will be happy. Ann is ready to start a new venture in her life professionally," said the source.

The insider revealed that while Curry and her attorney remain positive that the outcome will turnout in her favor, they are prepared to pursue legal action if they do not let her out of it.

"Ann's lawyer is continuing to hope that NBC will do the right thing, but, if necessary, she will pursue a breach of contract lawsuit against NBC, and she would have an excellent case," the source shared.

Curry wants to go to CNN to work with her former "TODAY" boss Jeff Zucker, who is now running the cable news outlet.

Zucker would like Curry to replace Anderson Cooper's current 8 pm EST time slot.

Enstarz reported in December that the suits at the Peacock network were "unwilling" to let Curry out of her contract, and if she were to quit, she would not be allowed to work for another major new outlet for two years.

An insider told Radar Online at the time that Curry's lawyer feels "there is a very strong case to be made" against NBC because the brass breached the terms of its contract with her when she was demoted from "Today."

"As long as Ann remains at NBC, it will be a constant reminder to everyone of how badly the situation was handled," the insider said. "'It would be so much better for NBC, Ann, and CNN if she was let out of her contract. It would be a new beginning and a chance for all parties involved to move on, once and for all."
