Khloe Kardashian has been by Lamar Odom’s side for about a week and is now speaking out for the first time since he was rushed to the hospital after being found unconscious in a Nevada brothel.

Kardashian, who it turns out is still legally married to the former Los Angeles Lakers star, released a statement Tuesday afternoon on her personal website.

She wrote, “The past week has been incredibly difficult. I am so thankful to family, friends and fans, who have sent nothing but prayers and well wishes to Lamar. I also want to take a moment to thank everyone at Sunrise Hospital, including the amazing doctors and nurses for their kindness and diligent work.

Under their amazing care, incredible strides have been made. You can never be prepared for an experience like this, but with the outpouring of love and endless prayers that Lamar has received and the strength I was given from my loved ones, it would have been difficult to endure. Thank you for your continued support. God is great!!!”

Her statement comes just a day after Odom was taken from Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas to another center in Los Angeles via helicopter. He was spotted being taken into the hospital late Monday with Kardashian present as well as two bodyguards.

As of late, he is talking in complete sentences and can even swallow food without any help. He is also receiving help for aspiration pneumonia.
