Teen Wolf's Scott McCall is an Alpha with nothing to lose.

'Teen Wolf' Season 5: 'Epic' Stydia Moment To 'Satisfy' Fans; Will Stiles & Lydia Finally Get Together?

After all, season 5A saw him lose everything he held dear - his pack, his best friend, even his life. With all the pain the Dread Doctors have caused, Scott (Tyler Posey) isn't even sure is he should be alive. At the time of his brief demise, the teen was convinced Beacon Hills would be better off without him.

"Scott was completely broken down. He was at the lowest point he's ever been, and I think he was ready to die. I think he accepted it," Posey explained to Teen Wolf Wiki at the 2015 New York Comic Con. "I think he was like, 'I think it's better this way. I think Beacon Hills would be better if I go.' So he accepted it and he was ready to go. That's dark. That does a lot to somebody; that changes somebody."

So, what sort of werewolf will Scott be when he embraces his resurrection in the midseason premiere? Viewers can expect the straight-laced hero to have a little extra bite.

"When he comes back, he starts rebuilding his confidence again. He wants to get the pack back again; he's becoming a bada** again," Posey teased. "He's got this edge, this darkness to him because he's ready to die. He's got nothing to lose anymore."

If you're worried the Alpha's transformation will put a further damper on the series comedic aspects, don't. Series creator Jeff Davis promises 5B will bring back Teen Wolf's more humorous bent.

Teen Wolf returns to MTV Jan. 5 at 9 p.m. ET.
