Justin Bieber's former bodyguard filed a lawsuit Thursday against the pop singer for physically harming him and is seeking more than $420,000 in overtime and other wages, Daily Mail reported.

Moshe Benabou said the 'Boyfriend" singer and Canada native repeatedly punched him in the chest during an October confrontation about how to handle a member of the singer's entourage. After he walked away from the disagreement, Bieber fired him, according to the lawsuit.

Benabou, who was once a member of the Israeli Army, also claimed that he was told he was not entitled to receive overtime pay even though he worked 14 to 18 hours a day between March 2011 and October 2012. He is seeking damages on the assault and battery claims, and $421,261 in unpaid overtime, vacation and other wage benefits, the news report noted.

"For nearly two years Mr. Benabou devoted himself completely to ensuring Mr. Bieber's personal safety," Benabou's attorney wrote in a statement. "Mr. Benabou deserved, as does any employee, to be treated with respect, dignity and in accordance with the law. Unfortunately, he was not."

Sources connected to Bieber told TMZ Benabou is a "disgruntled employee looking for money," and the claim that Bieber hit him is "absurd."

They added that Benabou is a "good guy" but was fired because it was discovered that he lied about his resume.

Bieber was slammed recently for photos published online of him at a party holding a rolled up cigarette that many believed to have marijuana inside it. On Jan, 4, TMZ posted images of the 18-year-old in a Newport Beach hotel "clutching a smoldering blunt at a big party." Sources at the party said the pop singer's friend Lil Twist was also present, and the rapper along with his brother rolled up marijuana joints that they passed around. Though Bieber has since apologized, the Twitter trend "cut4bieber" spread among Bieber fans, encouraging them to harm themselves as a way to protest the photos of Bieber allegedly smoking marijuana.
