Filming for the Jim Carrey starrer True Crimes is set to begin on Nov. 7 in Krakow, Poland, according to a Screen Daily report.

Jeremy Brock, who is screenwriting the film, spoke to the publication about the progress on the project. Brock also revealed that he had really worked hard on True Crimes, and spent the most time he had ever on any film writing this one.

"I haven't worked so long and persistently on one project as I have done on this one," he said. "Through working with [producers] Brett Ratner and David Gerson along with some short marriages to various directors, the script began to evolve."

As the subject of the film is strongly attached to the public realm, Brock revealed that a whole lot of research also had to go into the project. What is interesting is that Carrey chose to be attached to the project even before financing came through for it, and the actor also imbued that character with his own vision for him.

"Jim Carrey came on board before the financing was fixed and we worked with him on a vision of the script that fitted his vision of the persona," Brock said.

In other news releated to the film, there is buzz of Charlotte Gainsbourg being in talks to star in True Crimes alongside Carrey.

The movie is based on a 2008 New Yorker article by David Grann.

Carrey has recently emerged from a personal tragedy, as his former girlfriend, Cathriona White, committed suicide.
