The 70th annual Golden Globes took place on Sunday, Jan. 13, in Beverly Hills and all eyes were on the red carpet to see what celebrities were wearing to the annual ceremony.

The top trends of the night were retro hair (soft waves swept to one side a' la Rita Hayworth), thigh-high slits and the colors nude, cream, blush, red, black and white.

Celebrities ruling the red carpet were Anne Hathaway, Julianne Moore, Eva Longoria, Kate Hudson and Katherine McPhee.

Enstars compiled the top color trends seen on the red carpet at the 2013 Golden Globes and what the A-listers arrived in gave a sneak preview as to what to expect for the rest of the award show season.

Red dresses ruled the red carpet and there were a variety of red hues and textures that worked on many celebrities, from bold and bright to a deep-hued ruby tone.

Jennifer Lawrence stood out in her red satin floor-sweeping Christian Dior Haute Couture gown. French actress Maron Cotillard also wore red by Christian Dior Haute Couture, but hers was strapless in velvet and had a tea-length.

Claire Danes shocked everyone when she showed up one month after she gave birth in a red wrap dress with thigh-slit that showed plenty of leg. Zooey Deschanel's red satin Oscar De LaRenta was retro and had a 1950s debutante vibe to it, and a white pearl necklace and bracelet kept her look girly. Jennifer Garner and Naomi Watts opted for red but in the deep ruby family.

White also stood out, thanks to Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Lopez, Leah Michele and Amanda Seyfried. Hathaway's white strapless embellished two-piece Chanel Couture impressed the crowd, and the top had a slight peplum waist detail. Michele wore a white embellished gown by Elie Saab, and Seyfried and Lopez both wore white formfitting lace gowns - Seyfried's by Givenchy and Lopez's courtesy of Zuhair Murad.

Nude and blush gowns were also popular. "Scandal" actress Kerry Washington wore an embellished column gown by Miu Miu, "Nashville" star Hayden Panittiere's mermaid-style gown was by Roberto Cavalli and Megan Fox oozed sex appeal in her Dolce & Gabbana lace dress.

Black was the shade worn by more celebrities than any other color on Sunday night. Kate Hudson's Alexander McQueen gown with long sleeves, had a slight train and gold embellishment on the neck and waist. The open keyhole-shaped detail and plunging neckline showed off her cleavage.

Adele represented her country when she wore a long-sleeve black gown with an embellished colar by British designer Burberry. Sofia Vergara and Salma Hayek wore strapless black gowns that provided plenty of cleavage on the Latin beauties but Eva Longoria and Katherine McPhee wore the sexiest black dresses of the night, both providing an "Angelina leg moment" courtesy of the thigh-slits. Longoria's was custom black lace and sheer by Emilio Pucci and McPhee's by Olivier Theyskens with a thigh-slit and plunging neckline shed the "Smash" star's "good girl" image.

Nicole Kidman wore a black embellished column gown by Alexander McQueen and Debra Messing wore a black strapless dress by Donna Karan. Amy Poehler looked youthful in a black tuxedo pantsuit with cropped pants and without a shirt underneath. She complimented it with black strappy sandals and a sides-wept bun.

Other dresses that stood out: Taylor Swift's mermaid-style Donna Karan Atelier gown in a dark plum color, Lucy Liu in a light blue floral print by Carolina Herrera, Olivia Munn and Jodie Foster both in navy column gowns and the show's co-host Tina Fey in her black and white embellished cocktail dress by L'Wren Scott.
