The fate of Mia Toretto's (Jordana Brewster) has been drowned in the speculative din about exciting new cast members that might join Fast and Furious 8.

Actors Who Might Be In The Running To Join Fast and Furious 8

While most of the pivotal characters of the Fast and Furious series like Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jason Statham, and Dwayne Johnson have confirmed their return, there has been no official word about Brewster's return. Most have simply assumed that she will be not be coming back as her character arc was concluded with Brian O'Connor's (Paul Walker).

O'Connor's decision to leave the dangerous world of fast cars so as to be able to raise his family with Mia, who was expecting their second child, was shown toward the end of Furious 7. This was a way to give Walker a happy send-off, but Mia was also written into it. It does seem unlikely that she would return in a pivotal role, except for a chance appearance here and there. But Brewster is not writing off her return just yet, as she hinted to the possibility of her coming back in an interview with Huffington Post Live.

Fast and Furious 8 To Be Inspired By Paul Walker's Vision For Series?

"I don't know [if I'd do another film], but it's always dependent on the fans," she said. "If they want one and if there's an appetite for it. We never want to jump the shark!"

So it seems like if fans make enough noise the writers might go the extra mile to figure a way to write Mia's character back into the movie. Also, it would be very weird for Dominic (Diesel) to simply not see his sister after, so we reckon even though Mia might not be part of the crew she'll likely pop by in Fast and Furious 8.

Fast and Furious 8 will be released on April 15, 2017.

Furious 7 hit theaters on April 3, 2015.
