Their divorce may have been quick and fairly amicable, but Blake Shelton admits that the first major country music event he attends following his divorce from Miranda Lambert could be really awkward.

Blake Shelton Sues Over False Tabloid Stories

In an appearance Late Night with Seth Meyers, the Voice coach and country singer dished on the upcoming CMA awards, which will be the first event both he and Lambert will attend since announcing their divorce this past July. And though he has openly admitted that he's moved past the divorce since then, he does admit that there's no way there won't be any jokes at either of their expenses during the telecast.

"This year's gonna be awkward at the CMAs, speaking of jokes," he said. "Because we are...it's such a family. Everybody there is friends. There's gotta be one about me and Miranda. [Host] Brad Paisley is not doing his job if he doesn't look down there and go 'Ha ha!' You have to address the elephant in the room."

Gwen Stefani 'Really Trusts' Blake Shelton

"We've had the conversations like, 'OK, dude. I'll sit there and let you kick me in the face a few times.' I know it's coming," he added.

Shelton and Lambert have previously attended the awards show together every year, since they began dating, and throughout their four-year marriage. This will be the first time they haven't walked the red carpet together since then.

However, though there will likely be jokes made about them at the Nov. 4 event, the two exes themselves may be able to avoid awkward interactions with one another, since they've been on good terms since their split.
