Brad Pitt opened up on what it was like having his wife as the director of his latest project.

The actor's spouse, Angelina Jolie, directs and stars alongside Pitt in the film By the Sea as a traveling married couple dealing with their troubling issues.

Pitt mentioned to V Magazine that it was wonderful having Jolie take on the film in front and behind the camera.

"It's surprising how much I enjoy the direction of my wife," he told the winter edition of the magazine. "She's decisive, incredibly intuitive, and might I say sexy at her post. I trust her with my life."

The actor then gave a detail from the movie, which comes with an enticing message.

"It was probably not the wisest way to spend a honeymoon," he said. "But then again, fighting to make something better...what better metaphor for marriage?"

Despite being one of the most popular celebrity couples in Hollywood, Pitt made it clear that he and his wife still go home to spend time with the kids like any other family.

"At the end of the day, we get to be parents, greeting our lovely, crazy children and talking about their day, making sure they brush their teeth," he said.

Pitt and Jolie have six children: Maddox, 14, Pax, 11 Zahara, 10, Shiloh, 9, and twins, Knox and Vivienne, 7.

By the Sea hits theaters on Friday, November 13.
