Sam is rarely knocked off balance, but Supernatural's divine visions are doing a number on the hunter.

'Gilmore Girls' Netflix Revival: This Love Interest Is Making A Return, Who Is It? Actor Speaks Out

The younger Winchester sent out a SOS to an absentee God as season 11 begin, and someone (or something) answered his prayer...with a batch of confusing visions. Umm...thanks? Not really what he was looking for, but hey, at least these new prognostications brought back the young John Winchester (Matt Cohen).

Sam (Jared Padalecki) conked out during "Baby," and his dream was quickly commandeered by whatever force is attempting to drop a line on the Darkness. This time around, the being took the form of Winchesters' father, but not the John little Sammy knew.

"It was a really neat thing to do to use him instead of Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who I also love, because it puts Sam in an even more awkward position," Padalecki explained, according to TV Line. "It wasn't the dad that he knew, so it had Sam really unawares... It was just such a well-thought out and well-executed script."

As to what Faux-John's message means ("The Darkness is coming...God helps those who help themselves"), Padalecki couldn't say. The actor, however, teased answers will come as the series approaches midseason.

"In and around Episode 9 and 10, we'll have some other cool characters that have some interesting things to say about The Darkness," Padalecki promised.
