His character has been one of the most hard to pin down in the zombie apocalypse, and now the mysteries which led to Morgan (Lennie James) becoming a pacifist will finally be explored on The Walking Dead.

Will Daryl Be The Next Character To Die?

In the episode airing Sunday, Nov. 1, those wondering what lead Morgan to become a more peaceful man, after his far less kind mindset way back in season three's Clear will get the answers they've been waiting for as the show delves into his backstory and shows everything that brought him to his present state of mind, which is once again threatened as Alexandria is hit from all sides by much more violent threats.

In a clip for the episode, flashbacks of Morgan after his son died-when he was holed up in his booby-trapped hideaway and out of his mind, are shown with clips of him practicing his martial arts, eventually transforming into the more peaceful man he has become.

He also speaks throughout the clip, perhaps hinting at what led to him becoming this new man who tries to resist unnecessary violence as well.

"You have to redirect those thoughts by moving forward," he says in the clip. "To still accept what we were, with a code to never do it again. To protect everyone. To create peace."

However, the man he became could find himself once again repeating the more violent actions of his past-because he may no longer have any choice.

The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on AMC.
