Bradley Cooper denied dating his "Silver Linings Playbook" co-star Jennifer Lawrence at the 2013 Golden Globes, stating that the age difference is reason enough.

Entertainment Tonight asked the 38-year-old if he and Lawrence, 22, were a couple at the award ceremony on Sunday and he replied "No, no, no, no, no. Not even close."

"First of all, I could be her father. No, I'm kidding. But no, not even close," he added. "We've done two movies together. If it didn't happen by now, it's not going to happen."

Buzz about a romance is not expected to end anytime soon especially since Lawrence broke up with her "X-Men: First Class" co-star Nicholas Hoult, according to Us Weekly. The actors met on the set of their film and dated for two years.

Cooper and his rumored flame, "Avatar" star Zoe Saldana, reportedly broke up for the second time just before the holidays. They were co-stars in the 2012 film "The Words" and have been on and off for the last year.

"Silver Linings Playbook" did not win any awards on Sunday as a film but Lawrence did take home the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical for her role as Cooper's lover in the movie. She beat out Meryl Streep, Sally Fields, Judi Dench, Emily Blunt and Maggie Smith.

In her acceptance speech, she thanked her family, the film's cast and crew, and singled out especially her co-star Cooper, saying, "Bradley, you're incredible, and you made me better every single day."

Lawrence has done well for herself so far in the award season. At the People's Choice Awards on Jan. 9, she took home the award for Favorite Movie Actress and Favorite Face of Heroism for her role as Katniss Everdeen in the film adaptation of the novel "The Hunger Games." She also was the winner of the Favorite On-Screen Chemistry award with her co-stars Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth. The film itself won three awards that night.
