Following her recent split with Harry Styles, Taylor Swift cancelled the romantic birthday plans she arranged for the One Direction singer's 19th birthday on Feb. 1.

The 23-year-old planned on surprising her boyfriend with a five-night stay at Palazzina Grassi on Italy's Grand Canal to celebrate his birthday, according to Hollywood Life. A source told United Kingdom's Sun that the singer "organized an all-expenses-paid trip before the split." and "even arranged a private gondola for them for the entire time they would be there."

For Swift's birthday on Dec. 13, the couple toured England, Styles' native country, together and also with the 1D singer's family. A fan took a photo of the couple in rural northern England being escorted by Styles' mother and posted it on Twitter.

Their split came after a trip they took to the Virgin Islands earlier in January. Swift was seen catching a boat ride to the airport on Jan. 4 while Styles stayed on the island and partied with Sir Richard Branson. He was photographed in the hot tub with other people on Necker Island, which is privately owned by Branson.

"They had a fight," one insider said about the couple's breakup. Styles "said something he shouldn't have . . . This [breakup] is definitely going to be for good."

Another insider added, "They are 100 percent over."

Metro New York cited on Tuesday a Radar Online source that said Styles broke up with Swift because he said she was "asexual and wouldn't put out."

Swift tweeted on Jan. 10, "Back in the studio. Uh oh..." and an insider revealed that Swift is ready to use her breakup as inspiration for new songs. She was spotted heading into the recording studio that same day.
