Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have reportedly split up again over the weekend, right before the Golden Globes on Sunday, Jan. 13.

A source revealed that the split was the reason Stewart did not attend the ceremony with Pattinson, who presented an award that night. The insider said he wants to take a break for a while.

"She flew to LA and was supposed to be Rob's date for the Golden Globes," a source told British tabloid The Sun. "But he told her he wants to cool it off."

Pattinson, 26, was pressured by family and friends to dump the "On the Road" star because they have yet to forgive her for cheating on him with 42-year-old married film director Rupert Sanders, who she worked with on "Snow White and the Huntsman."

"He was getting so much pressure to ditch her," the source said. "His friends told him to focus on his career and said she was wrecking his chances."

Pattinson would like to "go back to being good friends" so that the "Twilight" co-stars can focus on "trust and work."

Stewart reportedly is "upset but understands," the insider said. The 23-year-old realized that she may have tried to patch things up too soon after the cheating scandal.

"She shouldn't have pushed him to reconcile after her infidelity," the source added. "She's hoping he'll come round and time will be a great healer."

As for their living arrangements post-split, Pattinson will reportedly remain in Los Angeles and Stewart might move to New York.

"She feels people leave her alone there and she has a bit more peace," according to the insider.

The British hunk told a German news outlet on the red carpet at the Golden Globes that he will head to Australia to begin filming "The Rover" this week for a nine-week movie shoot. When TV station proSieben asked Pattinson if and when he will leave to head Down Under, he answered "yeah, in a few days."

The news may come as a shock to "Twi-hard" fans because Stewart was last seen with Pattinson at an exclusive VIP Golden Globes after party thrown by the show's co-hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

E! News reporter Marc Malkin tweeted, "Just got word that Kristen Stewart just joined Robert Pattinson at a super private post-Golden Globes VIP party."

Reps for both Stewart and Pattinson have yet to confirm or deny the report of a breakup.
