"The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Kandi Burruss is engaged!

The Grammy-winning songwriter, most famous for writing Destiny's Child "Bills, Bills, Bills" and TLC's 1990s hit "Scrubs," got engaged to her boyfriend Todd Tucker on New Year's. The couple shared the news in an interview with Us magazine and posed for a photo in which Burruss, 36, stood in front of her fiancee sporting a two-carat diamond ring.

The triple-band oval-shaped ring was designed by Gregg Ruth and was first discovered by the reality star on a trip to Las Vegas. Burruss called Tucker to tell him about the sparkler and unbeknownst to her, Tucker purchased the ring and had it flown to Atlanta where the couple lives. He held onto it for "three or four months" before he proposed to her.

Burruss told the magazine that she was "totally surprised" but "so excited" because she always thought she would never get married. She confessed that she was so happy that she shed tears of joy over her impending nuptials.

"I used to make jokes with my friends that I [was] part of the Forever Single Club," Burruss said. "That's what I said before, but now I'm totally different."

Tucker asked Burrussi' daughter Riley, 10, for her blessing before he proposed.

The couple held a New Year's Eve party at the Atlanta home they share and at around 1:30 a.m., Tucker knelt down on one knee to pop the question. "Housewives" star Phaedra Parks was also in attendance and witnessed the couple's special moment.

Burruss told the magazine that the couple have a few wedding dates in mind. They have yet to decide if they will let the Bravo network televise their wedding.

Burusss is not the only "RHOA" star to get engaged on New Year's. Enstars reported that fellow "Housewives" star NeNe Leakes also accepted a proposal, from her ex-husband Gregg Leakes. NeNe confirmed the reconciliation during her appearance on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" on Jan. 3. The subject came up when the show's host inquired about a series of photos the "New Normal" star posted on Twitter on New Year's Eve.

"You start tweeting out these photos," Fallon said, while holding up copies of the romantic pictures NeNe posted on the social media site. "So, are you engaged? Can you say anything?"

NeNe, 44, replied, "Well.... a little after midnight, I was asked this beautiful question: 'Will you marry me -- again?'" The NBC and Bravo star then revealed that she had accepted Gregg's proposal on New Year's Eve.
