Who will win the People's Choice Award for Favorite Dramatic TV Actress in 2016?

Here Are Your Nominees For The 2016 People's Choice Awards

Ellen Pompeo. Kerry Washington. Sara Ramirez. Taraji P. Henson. Viola Davis. These are your nominees for Favorite Dramatic TV Actress at the People's Choice Awards and it's looking to be an intense battle to choose a winner.

Each of these actresses is popular in their own way, so it's tough to know which will take home the trophy. But let's break it down.

Pompeo has starred in ABC's Grey's Anatomy for 12 seasons now and has plenty of good will from diehard Grey's fans as Dr. Meredith Grey. She won this category last year as well as in 2013, so she is certainly a contender here.

Ramirez, Pompeo's co-star, has been a supporting star on Grey's Anatomy since season 2 but this is her first People's Choice Award nomination. Ramirez plays a beloved character (Dr. Callie Torres) and could pull off an upset.

Washington received a nomination in this category last year for her performance as Olivia Pope in ABC's Scandal and she received another one this year. This hasn't been the most buzzed season of Scandal but she is very popular among the general public and could still win.

Henson has the benefit of her massively popular Fox show Empire in addition to being the breakout star from the series. Her performance as Cookie is already iconic and could carry her to a win alone.

Davis has the most dramatic gravitas of anyone in this category, and she could win for her performance as Annalise Keating in ABC's How to Get Away with Murder. She is fresh off an Emmy win for this performance and still maintains buzz for it.
