Tamar Braxton has withdrawn from ABC's Dancing With the Stars for heath-related reasons.

Bindi Irwin: 'DWTS' Partner Derek Hough Has 'Changed My Life'

Braxton, who made it to the semifinals by the end of Monday night's episode of Dancing With the Stars, has now removed herself from the competition. The singer and co-host of The Real posted a photo of herself and DWTS partner Val Chmerkovskiy on Instagram with a lengthy caption explaining why she has to withdraw from Dancing With the Stars.

"With a Heavy heart I regret to inform you that my season of #dwts has to come to an end along with the rest of my tour dates with @musicbykem," she wrote. "After yesterday's final #dwts performance I went back to the hospital (after the doctors didn't want me to leave in the first place) only to find out that I don't have pneumonia but something way more serious and that is having several P.E.'s (blood clots in both sides of my lungs)".

Braxton went on to explain that she always encourages people to push through the pain to overcome the obstacles in their lives but in this case her health is too important to risk something bad happening.

"And in TRUE #tamartian form I must go about this the exact same way as I would anything else. I woke up to a mirror and saw myself this morning and that makes me the winner because that almost wasn't the case. Take care of yourselves... I love you and thank you ALL for your support p.s. Big hugs and kisses to my boo @iamvalc for being beyond a friend, brother and the BEST partner EVER", she wrote.

It is an unfortunate circumstance considering how close Braxton was to making it to the final week of competition. She and Chmerkovskiy were one of the pairs to watch from the beginning and were pretty consistently strong dancers throughout the season.

But now the show must go on with four couples now remaining on Dancing With the Stars: Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess, Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough, Carlos PenaVega and Witney Carson and Alek Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold.

Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
