Derek Hough has secretly been struck with an illness behind the scenes on ABC's Dancing With the Stars.

The past week has been rough for Hough, as his celebrity partner Bindi Irwin told People recently. The beloved pro has been battling strep throat through the week.

"He turned ghost-white," Irwin said, of Hough. "All the color washed away from his face, and I could tell he wasn't well."

Hough apparently couldn't even drive home due to his illness.

"I've had two IVs this week with fluids and vitamins," Hough said. "Any time I get sick, I pump myself with vitamins. I've been doing hot and cold saunas and antibiotics and lots of water."

Irwin admitted to being blow away by Hough's persistence while battling the disease.

"Honestly, every single day I wanted to say, 'Let's just lay down' because you could see the pain," Irwin recalled. "I don't know how he walked into that rehearsal room every day. I just wanted to take all his pain from him. His strength, dedication and determination was mind-blowing. He's the greatest person to be around."

This has been a rough season for Dancing With the Stars in regard to illnesses and injuries. Kim Zolciak-Biermann suffered a mini stroke earlier in the season that resulted in her having to withdraw from the competition. Tamar Braxton was also forced to withdraw this week after doctors found blood clots in her lungs.

Will Hough's illness hamper his and Irwin's dances next week? Considering Hough's tenacity it probably won't affect things too greatly; in fact, if they give more strong performances next week while Hough deals with strep throat it might be even more impressive.

Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
