The secret is out -- Jessica Simpson and fiancé Eric Johnson are expecting a baby boy, according to a recent report by Radar Online.

The couple’s adorable 8-month-old Maxwell Drew will soon be big sister to a new baby brother later this year.

“It’s Jessica’s dream come true, she prayed she was having a boy,” a close family source told Radar.

Simpson, 31, found out the sex of the child during a routine doctor visit last week. The source shared that the couple is elated and are already thinking of names for their son.

“She found out this week after a check-up at the doctor, who asked her if she wanted to know the sex of the baby. Jessica immediately said yes and when the doctor told her it was a boy she screamed with joy,” the source said. “What with everything going on in her personality life, and her problems with her father, this has given her something to smile about.”

Simpson originally planned to reserve the name Maxwell for a son, so they will have to think of something else, the source added.

On Christmas day, Simpson tweeted a picture announcing that she was pregnant. In the image, Maxwell Drew is seen sitting in the sand near the words “BIG SIS” drawn in front of her confirming the news. The fashion designer captioned the picture, “Merry Christmas from my family to yours!”

Even with a new baby on the way, Simpson plans to keep busy with work. The pregnant singer revealed on Jay Leno's "The Tonight Show" that she has been working on a new sitcom pilot based on her life. In the NBC pilot deal for the comedy, which is yet to be officially named, Simpson will play herself.

Simpson told Leno, "I will be playing myself, which is pretty easy...All the embarrassing things that happened behind closed doors, I always wished that they were filmed."
