Acting in FX's American Horror Story: Hotel has not only shown a new side to Lady Gaga, but helped her in dealing with her own psyche.

5 Possible Concepts For The Next Season Of 'American Horror Story'

Gaga, who plays The Countess on AHS: Hotel, recently spoke to The Sun about how acting has done wonders for her anxiety and depression.

"I'm an actress now and that helps a lot," she said. "I've tried to get off [my medication], but my doctor always tells me not to, that it's not safe for me."

She also referenced her real name, Stefani Germanotta, proclaiming: "I'm a Stefani-Gaga hybrid, and I want you to know the real me."

Gaga spoke of being nervous on the first day of shooting for American Horror Story, saying, of her thoughts at the time, "all I have is my preparation time and Jesus to save me from possibly screwing this up."

In fact, she wound up vomiting on her way to the set!

"On my first day I threw up on the way in a bag in my Rolls-Royce. I don't know why I thought that was funny but it is funny. So after I threw up in the bag I saved it and brought it [to the set]," she admitted.

It is currently unknown if Gaga will return for another season of American Horror Story, though she has previously stated that she wants to do "one great acting project a year."

American Horror Story: Hotel airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
