Samsung will reportedly launch the Galaxy Note 8in tablet at this year's upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) that will take place in Barcelona, Spain starting on Feb. 25.

The latest rumors for the device were sparked over leaked images and specs that were reported by ThinkDigit.com.

The leaked photos of the Galaxy Note 8.0 show an ear piece suggesting it may be a smartphone as well as a tablet.

The current design that Samsung is allegedly working with for the Galaxy Note 8 is allegedly similar to a bigger version of the Galaxy S3 with the same rounded edges and physical home button. As a Note device, it will also come with Samsung's S Pen stylus.

The rumored specifications for the Galaxy Note 8.0 are a quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, a 1280x800 resolution and a 5Mp rear facing camera.

It appears that Samsung is taking note of Apple as the 8-in design is similar to the latest iPad mini which has a 7.9in display.

The 8-inch size makes it larger than the smallest of the Samsung Galaxy Tab family which is 7in and does not come with the S Pen stylus.

The new Galaxy tablet is expected to feature a variety of connectivity options such as Bluetooth version 4.0, USB 2.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11. It will also run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean straight out-of-the-box, according to The Verge.

The upcoming Note will be an upgrade to the Galaxy Note II that was launched by Samsung in September which stepped up the screen size from 5.3-inches to 5.5-inches.

Consumers do not too much longer to see if Samsung will actually unveil the new tablet.

The MWC event begins on Feb. 25 and lasts until Feb. 28 where rumors will either be sparked anew or put to rest.
