Nathalie's (Anabelle Acosta) spends a moment everyday replacing the fake scare behind her ear, and viewers are about to find out why. When episode 10 rolls around, Acosta promises the truth will come tumbling out.

"You find out why she wears the fake scar she has," Acosta told TV Guide. "You learn a lot about her and the choices she has made. She deals with a lot of inner turmoil and insecurity from her past with her ex-boyfriend and her daughter."

It appears the mark may be part of Nathalie's "tough girl" persona. As loud as she is, Alex's (Priyanka Chopra) classroom foe is merely posturing.

"Nathalie overcompensates. She tries to act tough," Acosta cautioned. "It's almost like the people who talk the loudest in the room are the ones who are the least tough. It's the quiet ones you have to watch."
