A star of The Young and the Restless certainly has a lot to be thankful for today on Thanksgiving.

Has Burgess Jenkins Been Fired From Portraying 'The Young and the Restless' Character Billy Abbott?

Earlier this year Daniel Goddard managed to have a major accident on set of the CBS soap, which left him with a broken elbow.

Almost right after the incident occurred in September the actor underwent surgery that would "screw and wire" his elbow back together again with the help of metal pieces getting inserted.

After surgery he was resting quite a bit, but about a week later he found himself back on set. Following his return to set, he kept fans updated on his cast changes and the eventual placement of his elbow in a brace prior to starting rehabilitation.

Since then in October he has been rehabbing multiple times a week in hopes of regaining movement in his arm, but just a few days ago he hit a major setback since his body is rejecting the metal and therefore an infection blossomed.

Due to this situation Goddard needed to have surgery as soon as possible.

The good news is that it went well. Wednesday night the actor sent out a picture of himself post-surgery, revealing, "Surgery was a success!"

"Metal is out of my arm & the infection is under control," he added while mentioning he is in a cast once again.

On Facebook he elaborated that this entire ordeal has been "one [of the] hardest times of my life" and he is thankful for the outpour of love and support given by fans through social media and more.

We hope he has a better recovery this time around!

The Young and the Restless airs on weekdays at 12:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
