Model/actress Liberty Ross filed for divorce from cheating husband and film director Rupert Sanders on Jan. 25.

Ross hired Lauren Wassen as counsel for the divorce proceedings and will ask for spousal support and attorney fees.

Sanders has lawyered up with Lance Spiegel. The 41-year-old filed a response to the divorce petition and wants joint custody. Sanders did not ask for spousal support but wants to share the attorney fees with Ross.

The couple sought out the help of a marriage counselor in October 2012, but after several sessions the 10 year marriage did not work any longer, according to TMZ.

Ross and Sanders have two children together ages 5 and 7.

In July 2012, during filming of the "Snow White and the Huntsman," Sanders and actress Kirsten Stewart were caught embracing each other by Us Weekly photographers.

Stewart’s boyfriend Robert Pattinson quickly broke up with her and moved his stuff out of their Los Angeles home. A few months later, Stewart and Pattinson were able to patch things up after she made a public apology about the affair.

She said in a message through her publicist to People the following:

“I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve cause to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.”

Subsequently, the 41-year-old British director also released a statement apologizing for his actions.

"I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family," Sanders told People. "My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together."
