Rumors circulated that actress Gwyneth Paltrow is interested in making a cameo appearance on the British-American TV drama "Downton Abbey."

Gossip Cop reported that the 40-year-old is looking to focus her television career now that she's officially wrapped production on the Marvel hit "Iron Man 3."

"Gwyneth just wrapped Iron Man 3 and is so sick of blockbusters and wants to focus more on TV," a source said to the website.

The source said that the actress specifically requested to be on the period masterpiece, adding that Paltrow "begged for a role on the U.K. show Downton Abbey ... and got it!"

"She adored working on 'Glee' and told her team to get her on 'Downton Abbey,' stat!" said the source.

The series' creator Julian Fellows was reportedly ecstatic to have Paltrow make a cameo on the show. The source noted that Paltrow was "told on the downlow that [show creator] Julian Fellowes is 'thrilled' and fleshing out a cameo for her."

While nothing is set in stone on the respective rumor's validity, it was vehemently denied by Paltrow's people, who are calling it "totally false," according to The Stir.

Taking place in the fictional Yorkshire country estate of Downton Abbey, the series chronicles the lives of the aristocratic Crawley family after the Edwardian era and centers on historic events during that respective time period.

Only time will tell if Paltrow would make an appearance on the show's fourth season.

"Downton Abbey" is currently airing its third season in the U.S. every Sunday on PBS at 9 p.m. EST. The airdate for season four in the U.K. or U.S. has yet to be announced.
