Apparently, Adele is feeling much happier and healthier after shedding off a little excess weight in the past year. Source close to the international chart topper say that she's in a much better place in her life right now after losing more than 20 pounds in the past year.

According to Xpose on Saturday, Adele made a lot of radical changes in her life, which included giving up cigarettes, drinking less alcohol and eating different kinds of food to help her slim down.

A source close to the singer said, "Adele has lost 21lbs this year. She gets bored on diets, so instead she's made healthy food swaps such as dark chocolate instead of chocolate biscuits, and fish with sweet potato wedges instead of chips. Typically, she'll have a green juice and scrambled eggs with avocado for breakfast, soup, salad or sushi with a green tea for lunch. Then, for dinner, she has veggie pasta and rice - she won't give up carbs, but controls her portions."

What's more, Adele has also been hitting the gym in between promoting her latest album, "25" and taking care of her 3-year-old son, Angelo, who she shares with her partner Simon Konecki.

The insider added, "She exercises three times a week, doing circuits and running, and she does light weights to help stay toned. She feels so much healthier and happier - she's finally confident enough to show off her body."

And if that weren't enough, her new body has also given her a new level of self esteem that she's never had in her life before.

"Adele used to fear live performances or doing chat shows, but now she feels confident enough to tackle it all," the source added.
