Is The Artist’s Jean Dujardin jealous of his canine costar? According to the Press Association, the French actor is completely against a recent petition to nominate Uggie, the movie’s scene-stealing pooch, for an award.

“It’s just a dog,” said Dujardin at the London Critics’ Circle Awards.

But the actor isn’t alone. The Artist’s director Michel Hazanavicius would prefer a human get an award nomination.

“He’s a dog, not an actor. He doesn’t care about awards. And I would feel really uncomfortable if he was nominated in an actor category, because that means that he would take room from another actor, and that would not be fair.”
Poor Uggie!

What do you think? Should Uggie the dog be nominated for an award?
