Supergirl is ready to swoop into the CBS schedule with a full season.

'Supergirl' CBS: Superman Is On His Way! But There's A Twist

Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) is kicking butt all over National City, and while viewers have unnecessarily fretted about ratings (an average of 11.24 million viewers is nothing to sneeze at), CBS saw fit to order a back 7 for DC's Kryptonian heroine. That only brings the series to 20 episodes, but the network has dubbed it a full season.

The announcement comes just days after Bleeding Cool brought Supergirl and Flash fans a major crossover rumor. According to the site’s Thanksgiving tease, if the CBS drama was to receive a full season, then May sweeps would bring Barry Allen and the STAR Labs team to National City.

On Monday, Bleedling Cool expanded on their insider news with the following:

“We’ve heard this morning that it may be a requirement [for Supergirl] to do a crossover if it gets those extra episode. And it may all be part of an arc that takes on the storyline from the Supergirl comics about New Krypton – that comic saw 100,000 Kryptonians come to Earth after Brainiac freed them from the Bottle City of Kandor, with a new planet being built for them.”
