To the disappointment of Ann Curry fans, the veteran news anchor will not be heading over to CNN, according to sources.

Curry's former "TODAY" boss and current CNN president Jeff Zucker no longer has any interest in offering her an anchor job.

Sources told TMZ reports of Zucker trying to hire Curry so she can replace Anderson Cooper in his current 8 p.m. slot are completely false, as well as rumors of Zucker's plan to bring Curry to CNN to help boost ratings. Curry's "TODAY" departure last June may have affected Zucker's decision to bring her in, according to one insider.

"Ann has been sainted because of what happened to her [on "Today"]. The fact is ... she definitely can't carry a prime time show," a source said.

Earlier in January, Curry and her attorney reportedly asked NBC to end her contract so that she can begin a new gig at CNN, but executives at NBC said they will only consider releasing her if she does not appear on television for the next six months. Now, the peacock network will not let her tape live interviews; NBC will only run pre-taped segments with the former "TODAY" show host.

"She's been pushing for live interviews, but NBC will only air her taped interviews, presumably so they can edit them," a source told The New York Post.

Since Zucker became president of CNN one week ago, changes have taken place very quickly under his helm. Several people have been let go and Zucker added a former morning show anchor to his on-air talent roster. Zucker hired "20/20" co-anchor Chris Cuomo, 42, who was ABC News' chief legal correspondent. His brother is New York governor Andrew Cuomo and his father, Mario Cuomo, is an ex-governor of New York. Prior to the "20/20" gig, Chris was "Good Morning America's" news anchor from 2006 to 2009.

Chris will co-anchor CNN's morning show with Erin Burnett. He was handpicked by Zucker because "for an anchor he can basically make the centerpiece of the network," an insider told the Post.
