Outlander is ready to enter a brave new world. Scotland is behind us, France before in the first trailer for season 2.

'Outlander' Season 2: Has Starz Cast Lord John Grey? Fan Favorite To Debut In Episode 9

Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) hopped across the Chanel at the end of the series' freshman run, and soon the Highlander and the Sassenach will find themselves in the seat of Parisian luxury. Their mission? To turn the tide on the Jacobite Rising.

The latest promo proves the time traveler and her husband have moved as far from tartan and physically possible. Now donned in court finery, the pair must adjust to an entirely different environment. While this isn't Jamie's first time in 17 th century France, he is no more comfortable in his surroundings than Claire was when she tumbled into the past.

Even his role in saving Scotland will have Jamie uneasy.

"We'd be lying to everyone," Jaime tells his wife, who gently reminds him that there is too much on the line to worry about honesty.

"Jaime's thrown himself into it whole-heartedly. He's in it but he's not relishing it at all," Heughan told Blastr. "We see [Jamie and Clare] slowly get better at [playing the game] and learn they can undercut people and be quite political themselves. Publicly he's a good businessman and very charming, but in those late nights with Claire we see the mask come off."
